This Dutch record is a not a new release but I still play this one regularly. This is the best kind of Dutch beat music. The organ player uses a Dutch Philichorda organ which is kind of cool. It is easy to label the Kik as a gimmick but that would be quite wrong. Every song on this album is brilliant. Some song sound like the Beatles (i.e. ´Simone´, ´Cleopatra´, ´Verliefd op een plaatje
Deze plaat is alweer een tijdje uit maar ik draai ‘m best vaak. Het is Nederbeat van uberhoge kwaliteit. Dat de organist ook af en toe op een geweldige philicorda speelt helpt ook een beetje mee. The Kik afdoen als een gimmickband slaat nergens op want de liedjes zijn gewoon keigoed. Klinkt als: vroege Beatles (o.a. ‘Simone’, ‘Cleopatra’, ‘Verliefd op een plaatje’) ,Boudewijn de Groot (the great Dutch psychedelic master (‘Later als je groot bent’) and the Monkees (the cover song ‘Zevenhuizer zondag’). They even succeeded in abducting the ancient Dutch uberhippy Armand (including. neofolkdude Lucky Fonz III) for ‘Er is niemand’. The absolute superhit is ‘Simone’ a song that keeps on playing in your head.
